Aha! I love Disney
What's your fav., hag? I, personally, feel the old Disney's are the best, not the Pixar ones. As much as the Pixar ones are great.. they just don't have that 'feel.' My favourite film ever is Tarzan. Such an emotional, humorous and imaginative story I have never seen before.

Re: The Disney Thread
Conor are you talking about pre-The Little Mermaid Disney (Snow White-Oliver&Company) or the Disney Renaissance (The Little Mermaid-Tarzan)?

I mean the early 90's - late 90's. The 'cartoon' Disneys.

Re: The Disney Thread
the early 90-late 90s is called the Disney Renaissance area. (I like those movies too-I haven't seen Tarzan or Hercules-mom wants to see the latter one) but the women of that area I can identify with.

Re: The Disney Thread
Oh, Hercules is very good too. 'Specially the gospel music. But Tarzan.. wow.. I was just so blown away by the whole thing. I saw it when I was 6, I think, but I bought the dvd a few weeks back and I've been watching it every second weekend. And I never get tired of it.
My favourite Pixar would be either Nemo, or Wall-E. I feel they both have a valuable lesson, just as the 90's did. But then there's Toy Story.. oh god, there's so many...

Re: The Disney Thread
I saw a bit of Hercules movie once but I was trying to get away from something "Put you left foot in/out" world record I think and I tucked into a younger Elementary school Special Ed class (the classes in that section of the school was JK-Gr.3, the Grade. 4th&5 for me were in a portable and the other half of the school was Gr.6-Gr. and in the same classroom I caught a bit of the Adventures of Mr. Toad and Mr. Ichabod Crane (a 50s double feature)

I've never been much of a fan of Disney, but I did have a few favorites when I was a kid.
I loved Beauty & the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Alice in Wonderland, Oliver & Company, and Aladdin.

Oh yes, Aladdin is very good also. The songs are brill - forgot to mention that about Tarzan, 'Strangers like me' and 'You'll be in my heart' MAKE that film - i love the scene in Aladdin where he ventures up the steps in the Cave of Wonders and the music slowly rises and then he grabs the lamp and the lava flows.... and Genie is absolutely hilarious

The movies I like: TLM (Ariel's Curiosity and Red head), Beauty&the Beast (Belle's bookworm and knowing that underneath all of B&tB is the message from another movie of Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame-"Who is a Monster and Who is a Man?!!" also the plot of many classical literature), Aladdin "trapped" feeling), Mulan ("I'm a not meant to play this part?/Now I see that if I was truly to be myself/I would break my family's heart") and in a way Hunback of Notre Dame is another movie of mine since in my own age group when I was younger I was an outcast

Ah, I'm familiar with Beauty and the Beast, and the Hunchback of Notre Dame, but I've never actually seen them. I know the stories but still. I'm still looking for them at Golden Disks! Aw, Anne. I can relate to that. Right now, being 15, I am very shy. I have a stammer and I like being alone, with my dog, jenny. My twin is my polar opposite, but we click so well. She is very popular, and so, I am considered Her brother, and not really as Conor. But hey, I don't mind. Once I'm out of the way and not speaking, I'm happy. Perhaps that's why I like Tarzan so much? That he himself was an outcast?

Re: The Disney Thread
When I was 7 I was going though a Hunchback fad that I watched that movie so much. But I always fast forward in the one scene- so much that my Video cassette of the movie has the lines you get from doing it so much.
I have made some Disney sims (mostly women) and outfits-the one (the outfit that is) in my avatar is suppose to be the costume from "Something There" from Beauty&the Beast.

Everyone says my daughter looks like Boo when I put her hair in piggytails. I'm anxious for the sequel, but hope it's not terrible...
I didn;t know there was a Boo doll. I want one!

Re: The Disney Thread
Toy Story 1 and 2 was good, 3 was okay...I've watched 3 on Starz once in a while. My daughter likes Toy Story 3, so I'll watch it too.
According to IMDB Monsters Inc. 2 is scheduled to be out sometimes in 2013.
I guess it's going to be a prequel to the first one and the working title right now is "Monsters University". My question is if it's a prequel, how will boo fit into it to make sense? They don't meet her until the first one, and she's only about 2 years old in that one.
But I've also heard it's a sequel that will take place about 10-15 years after the first one.
Look what I just found:

Re: The Disney Thread
My favorites would be the ones between these periods: 1950 - 1961, 1989 - 2000. I prefer the Disney classics, though there are some non-classics that I do like, such as The Emperor's New Groove. I also like The Princess and the Frog and Tangled, though I don't think they quite had the feel as the classics did. They're certainly a step in the right direction, though. I also like Pixar's movies.Conorsim wrote:Aha! I love Disney

Random Disney clip time!

Re: The Disney Thread
I have seen like, 2 Disney movies. XD I once asked my mom, "Why didn't I watch any Disney movies when I was little? Why was I deprived!?" Apparently, my older brother had watched them millions of times, but I wouldn't sit still. I wanted to run around and play. XD I told her, "You should have duct taped me to the couch!" XD I have to find these movies sometime.
