Ugh!!! Really, people??
I love going to the movies but I swear, people at the theater have been annoying the crap out of me lately. Tonight my husband and I watched "The possession". When we walked in, we noticed that there were a few people there but it wasn't like the theater was packed or anything. There were still plenty of seats available. So we picked a row somewhere near the top, where noone was sitting because we don't like having to climb over top of people. Apparently though, some don't mind having to climb over people at all. These two guys walked in and out of all the seats to pick, they sit on the same row as us, like 4 or 5 seats over. A few minutes later, a couple of their friends walk in, so of course they waved them over. Once again, I ended up getting my feet stepped all over to let these people's friends get to their seats. About 5 more minutes go by and what do you know!! A girl walks in and shes with the same people! So we let her go by, and this is the 3rd time now that I've had to scrunch my legs up against my seat as far back as possible to avoid getting my feet stepped all over. Oh but they weren't done yet!
A little bit later, the same girl that had just sat down, gets up and walks out of the room. So make this the 4th time that I've had to go through this. This girl comes back a minute later and has ANOTHER girl with her. So we let them by, they sat down, and thank GOD that was the last time that any of those people got up. I kept thinking to myself what the hell?? They just keep bringing more and more people in here... how many friends did these people bring with them!? If you're going to sit on the same row as us, at least all come in together instead of coming in one or two at a time and making me scrunch my legs up every 5 minutes. Its just annoying because there isn't enough room. Either I have to scrunch my legs up or Im going to get stepped on. Either way, its a pain.
What gets me is that there was a row directly in front of us and there was noone sitting there! Why didnt they just move one row down and sit there?? Thats what I would have done rather than having to climb over top of someone to get to my seat. Not only would it be an annoyance to me but it would be an annoyance to the other person as well. They could have sat on the row in front of us and had almost the entire row to themselves. And then two rows down from that row, there was another row that was almost completely empty. They were plenty of rows to chose from with noone sitting in them and yet they have to sit right next to us.
To make it worse, the guy that was sitting closest to me took his shoes off and put his feet up on the back of the seat in front of us. He had socks on at least but it was still kinda gross.... I kept smelling something but didnt know what it was... it had kind of a sour smell. Then I look over and notice that hes over there with his shoes off and his feet propped up! I dont know for sure if it was his feet but if it wasn't I dont know what else it could be. I didnt notice the smell until he came in.
I told my husband after we left that if one more of them had have walked in front of me again, I was going to take our stuff and move down to the row below us so we wouldnt have to deal with them anymore. Anyway, just a word of advice, to anyone that does this, dont do it anymore!!! It is highly irritating. If there are other rows to choice from that have noone sitting there, just sit there! If you have to sit a row higher or a row lower than where you really want to sit just to avoid having to walk in front of people, just do it. It really doesnt make that much of a difference. ESPECIALLY if youre in a group and there are going to be multiple people coming in... or especially if youre going to be getting up every 20 minutes to go to the bathroom or to get snacks. How can you expect anyone to enjoy the movie if theyre having to deal with you walking all over them every few minutes?
On a positive note, at least the movie was pretty good. It had some pretty scary parts that made me jump... however it would have been a lot more enjoyable had it not have been for those stupid people sitting next to us.

Re: Ugh!!! Really, people??
When I went to see The Avengers there were a bunch of young boys, like 11 who were basically THE WORST theater goers ever. They sat right in front of us and they talked the whole time. After that they had some fashlight app on their phone and were shining it in the theater. Then, the one in front of me kept raising his hands in the air for some reason. I yelled at them like 4 times then complained to the theater staff but they didn't do anything.

Little kids and teenagers seem to be the worst for that. Although its still annoying, its not as bad when they do stuff like that because you kind of expect it from them. These people were like in their 20s though. I dont even know if they were purposely trying to get our nerves, but they definitely did. I guess they don't mind it when theres plenty of seats available and a group of people comes in and sits right next to them. To me, I think its rude, aggravating and inconsiderate. Some of us find it hard to be able to enjoy the movie when we have people stepping on our feet and walking back and forth in front of us every two seconds.

Re: Ugh!!! Really, people??
I'll never forget going to see "Up Close and Personal" in the movie theater, and there was a group of girls in the front row laughing and being very immature. There was an older gentleman and his wife (I assume) sitting a row or two in front of me and my friend who were getting really annoyed by these girls, so about half way through he had had it, got up went down to the girls and told them (clear as a bell), "grow up and watch the movie, if you can't do that then leave so the rest of us can watch it in peace, if you can't do THAT let me know and I'll go get the manager to escort you out since you're obviously under aged to see this movie--it's up to you".
They shut up.
They shut up.

I don't know how it is in other theaters, but in danish ones its common people have to pass you... If they have to go to their seats, have to pee, have a child thats afraid of the movie, etc.
Besides, you decide your seats before you go in, sometimes you do it many days before at home. so You can't always tell if you've picked a seat where lots of people are. ^^
However the feet guy seems disgusting XD if it was his feet... XD
Actually maybe I have to go to the theater today, but I'm still coughing a bit, and if it doesn't go over a bit more I can't go... (I bet it'd be really annoying for other people if I went) D:
