Found a Magician in the Basegame! :D

I just re-installed the base game on my crappy laptop and found a magician at the park
I haven't installed any patches or anything yet





My graphics aren't the best on this computer, but at least it still runs

Yeah, didnt they use to be an NPC? I think they got rid of them in one of the early updates because they glitched majorly.

Magicians are one of those "EA Lost and Found" things. They only appear in the first few weeks of a Save's life and never seem to appear after that. I think there was some interview before the Base Game's release that mentioned the ability to hire Magicians for parties. Apparently, EA abandoned the concept, but left the Magicians in game.

There's no special trait associated with them, since they're an unfinished NPC. Go for the Pizza Delivery guys/girls. I tend to have good luck with them, as far as genetics go, along with the nifty little "Pizza Appreciator" trait. Pretty much useless, unless you order a lot of pizza.

About the magician, I remember reading that you have to have a sim with a high level at the athletic skill who read that book...eh.. only know the german name, that would be "Der Zauberer von Palladia".
After that, you should get the chance to spot the Magician somewhere in public and hunt him down; if you manage a social interaction, you may book him for a party. But it was also said that he was likely to be a pickpocket and steal from your guests...
