Wow that's sad and eerie, I don't even know how something like that can happen.

The Elderly are so... ignored nowadays During the snow here last November, numerous elderly farmers died because when they were checking their cattle & cows, they slipped in fields or in their farmyard and died of the cold, as no one was there to help.

Yep. We rarely have snow, so last November it really was special It was the 1st time I saw snow. But people were just so unprepared. Our roads - country roads - are awful, especially in icy conditions, so it was impossible to go anywhere - even to the shop to get milk for our tea!

But, we have a tractor so we were fine.

Well, for me it was, Chatter. I think we had a little when I was younger... but my mam said it wasn't even an inch. When she was younger - ahem, long time ago - they had snow all the time. It's so beautiful though.

Thats sad. So many awful things that happen in the world.

Come to denmark. You can enjoy lots of cold weather and way to much snow every winter. It is cold for months!

I hate winter so so so so much. Each winter in denmark there are also so many homeless people that die. Its horrible.

I heard of this, and there was another one similar to this one here in the US...I wish I could remember where or how long...

The actual story is so sad.. 8 years!
And Conor, the snow situation is ridiculous. Never had much snow in the UK when I was a child, but in the last few years there's been loads of it!! But we're not used to dealing with it so it's almost like everything comes to a standstill People get too scared to go out in their cars because of the danger - as the government never expect it at first there is still ice all over the roads.
The damage to the roads from the cold was the worst... there are still pot-holes everywhere because of it. It's so sad that people die because of it simply because they weren't prepared

I live in midwest US. The weather is notoriously bipolar here...I remember last year, we had snow on Christmas, and the next day it was 70 degrees o.O It usually does snow a ton (I think the most we got was like 4 feet) but we're well prepared.
Has anybody seen the movie Snow Day with the evil snow plow man that's bent on making sure that kids never get 2 snow days in a row? That's sort of how I picture adults here.

I live directly SE of Lake Michigan in the state of Indiana. In the winter, the cold northwesterly winds from Canada sweep across the "warmer" great lake and create a giant snow machine we here call "Lake Effect" snow. Earlier this year we had 40" of snow over a 36 hour period. It was glorious. I was outside jogging in the dark on a Friday night when the storm first got going and little ice pellets were hitting me in the face. I woke up to a sight I've not seen in my adult life - 30+ inches of snow! It was MAGNIFICENT!!! And to follow it up, we had another blizzard shortly afterward which canceled my work for the day.

I have had a mountain of ice next the my garden. When it comes next year, which I expect it to do, I should take some pictures. It was double as tall as me o.o
