World Population About to Hit 7 Billion!

Who's happy about that
To me, that's WAY too many people for the earth to handle.

But, we are the biggest species on Earth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only 7 billion? I thought the world population would be like a bajillion and one. or something.

Edit; I was watching this world population thing and I would refresh it and the number would raise by 20+ and it's weird to think if it's like an estimate or somehow it's calculating it or magic. Also weird to think of how many people in the world were born on the same day and at the same time.

I heard it on the radio yesterday while in the car. Poor baby looks terrified (probably a lot of news people there taking pics).

I also heard that the 6 billionth person was born just 12 years ago.



That's a lot of people born in only a 12 year span!

The insects outnumber us by trillions. Also, so do bacteria (it must be impossible or near impossible to estimate how many bacteria there are in this world). I know that there are many different species of insects and bacteria, but I'm just making a point that there are many more of those than primates. But I get your point. The human race has gone from being in the millions a few hundred years ago to being about 7 billion, and we are one of the few species on this planet (and perhaps the only, not sure) that can significantly alter its own environment. Depending on your viewpoint, that could either be a good thing or a bad thing. Though it makes you think if we're going to be the cause of our own extinction and the destruction of our own planet (unless of course there really is a Doomsday, which could be, though if there is I find it doubtful that it's in 2012). There are many more pessimistic things I could say, but on a happier note, it means that there are more people to be loved. ^_^
