Are you saying you don't know what the Flying Dutchman and Hitchhiking Ghosts are?

The Flying Dutchman story is about a ship that crashed, and people say they still see it on some nights still.

And the Hitchhiking Ghosts are from the haunted mansion at disney world/land.

I'm still confused though, and what's UL?

no the stories I referenced are the ones I KNOW--"recognized"-means know. And technically hitchhiking ghosts aren't from the Disney haunted mansions...

Those hitchhiking ghost stories is a couple (or sometimes a single) sees someone (a girl/woman) and the couple/single stops and "picks" the girl up and (after) the "hitchhiker" says an address somewhere along the way the "hitchhiker" disappears and I guess the next day or so..the couple/single go to the address mention and someone (usually the girl's mom) says something like "My daughter been dead for X years."

and a UL is an "urban legend" (which I guess you could classify all the ghost stories in the Sims 3 Gen as)

yes maddie I am and I recognize some of them because of my interest in "haunted places" , Urban Legends &supernatural.

There was one that was the ending of the one with the Clown Statue in the children's bedroom, and he's like 'Have you checked the Children?'

In the same vein, anyone seen the movie 'Grave Encounters'?

I think I remember someone on the officals doing a simliar "clown" story..

of course there's always the one about the telephones&baby-sitter.

and of course there is the one I 100% thinks comes from Harry Potter (the died of fright).

Died of fright UL didn't come from Harry Potter, but they made it similar so that they could use the idea in a HP form.

The story is that a girl/boy goes into a cemetery, stands on a grave and dies of
fright. The most common one (in N.America) is "The Legend of Black Agnes.

I do know the "black Agnes" (but you have to remember I was introduce to Harry Potter before I was introduce to ghost stories (with the expect ion of the hook one) funny I got the said 4th Harry Potter book with the died-from-fright mentioned in 2000 .. but when it was a male who died of fright in the Sims' ghost story?

Well I did not know that you were introduced to HP before the ghost stories, how would I?--lol. I'm just saying...this is where the "died from fright" came from, and that it wasn't introduced by HP.

And as I suggested, the story changes. It originally started off as a girl who died from fright in the UL, but there are different variations of the story...everything from a girl in college to a boy in a fraternity.

wait, isn't the died from fright story is where the girl stabs a knife through the ground in a graveyard, but she stabs her dress without seeing, and when she tries to runs away, she thinks something is grabbing her. And then dies?

That's one of the versions...yes!

its the one where an old man says somthing like "very soon!" and laughs hystericaly on the phone to a babysitter several times before the babysitter calls 911.

and then it turns out that the old man was calling from upstairs and he was arrested.
