Your fashion sense Empty Re: Your fashion sense

Post by brunettesimgirl Thu May 03, 2012 12:57 pm

I don't wear anything special as far as clothes. I wear what is comfortable and looks good on me. I will say though that my two favorite pair of pants (pre-pregnancy) were my Calvin Klein jeans and a pair of "The Flirt" jeans from Old Navy. They were/are both soooo comfortable. Since starting to work out I'm hoping I may be able to fit into them again by the end of the year, maybe? Usually I wear jeans, and 90% of the time choose either the flare style of jeans or boot legged. I like fitted shirts best, but some are "pouf-y" which I wouldn't dare wear until I've lost more weight (they'd make me look heavier than I am). I have a box full of shoes, but I rarely wear them, so you'd most likely find me in sneakers.

My hair--I prefer it on the longish side. My hair, when done with my flat-iron, is very similar to that on my simmies avi. I used to love the "Rachel" look, but grew out of that. I love to dye my hair and have done it brown, blonde (which no one told me it didn't look good on me and I didn't find out this until I got my college badge with my photo on it---I dyed it back to brown that afternoon), red and tried red with blonde highlights (which fried my hair--literally) and I had to get it chopped off.

I love MAC makeup. Best makeup out there IMO. I've used the same three colors for years. I can't remember their names since they have worn off (lol) but they are gold, and then two shades of purple (one darker than the other). I also have a pink and brown set by Clinique which is really nice, but it's almost gone. If you're willing to spend the money, I would highly suggest the MAC (but beware...they usually run about $15 for each little eyeshadow container) (so if you got three eyeshadows they would cost you about $40-$45, but totally worth IMO).

I usually wear semi-skinny jeans, just because I like them tight around my ankles where as flare jeans have me always stepping on the bottoms thus ripping them. I have to get skinny jeans that say short, haha. For tops, it's usually a t-shirt or some sort of cute top. I actually like these type of tops where they are a cross between a sweatshirt and a long sleeve shirt because they are light and comfy. I love wearing flip flops or flats.

I like long hair, I don't really have long hair though, that has some layering and long-ish side bangs. I usually have it a. Straightened, b. I braid it at night and it creates cute waves in the morning, especially on a lazy day I can just take the braids and and boom my hair is done, or c. Just in a simple ponytail.

For makeup (usually what i wear for school), I usually just wear liquid foundation, setting powder, I then curl my lashes and then use brown mascara. I hardly ever use eyeshadow for some reason. Sometimes I put white eyeliner on my bottom waterline to make my eyes a little brighter. I'm a huge makeup nerd, I've kind of obsessed with YouTube Beauty Videos, and I love collecting makeup and testing different looks and such.

@BSG I've always wanted to try Mac, unfortunately the closest Mac store is several hours away. However, we have an Ulta which has Urban Decay, Stila, NYX, stuff like that which I am so excited to try once I start working and saving some money, well after I can get my car paid off and all that.

If you have a Macy's department store near you, check in the beauty department. A lot of Macy department stores have smaller MAC departments (with limited items) within the department store, but if you see something you like that they don't have on display they can order it to the store for you to pick up.

Clothes- I seriously have multiple personalities when it comes to clothes. Putting certain pieces from my closet and lying them next to each other, you'd never guess they were from the same persons closet. My only staple would be Angel jeans. They are stretchy and VERY comfortable.

Hair- I have been dying my hair red and I plan on keeping it that way. I feel like I found my perfect shade. I keep my hair at a longer length and 99% of the time have bangs. I think I have a 5-head and prefer to keep it covered Laughing

Makeup- I am not a makeup person in the slightest. However, I started wearing Bare Minerals in December and I love it! It helps keep my skin clear and it evens out the tone and just makes my skin better with and without it on. I couldn't imagine not having it now.

I wish I could move somewhere with a decent mall. I mean, our town has a Target, Kohls, and places like that. But we only have an American Eagle and an Aero. at our mall which is where most of my clothes come from. But other than that there isn't much of an other teen stores like those. Our mall is up for sale apparently, and I'm hoping some company will buy it but I have a feeling it will close down and be like a abandoned mall.

When weather is cool enough to permit I like to wear long sleeve emerald/forest green shirts with olive green cargo pants or khaki-colored ones. I'll also wear burgundy-colored long sleeve shirts with the khaki-colored cargo pants. When dressed like this I usually like to either wear a white tooth-looking pendant made from glass with a pewter trim/holder on top (the trim also seems to have Buddha eyes on it) which is actually suppose to be an Italian horn, or I might wear a Yin Yang pendant. I also own a Leo sign (my zodiac sign) pendant, a phoenix pendant, two dragon pendants, a dog tag pendant with a wolf on it, a skeleton key pendant, and various pendants made out of crystal (like agate, black tourmaline, tiger's eye). I wanna get more pendants and necklaces made from natural stuff like that. I was also thinking of getting an Ohm pendant.

In warmer weather I usually either wear a burgundy, green, or purple shirt with khaki or cream colored shorts. I'll also wear polo shirts (usually burgundy).

Besides this I always wear black athletic shoes with velcro straps and I most of the time to always wear a coexist ring that has the Christian cross, Jewish Star of David, Muslim crescent and star, Yin Yang, Hindu Ohm, and Buddhist wheel symbols on it.

When I dress more formally (i.e. business casual), I'll wear a burgundy dress shirt with stone/cream-colored pants and black dress boots, or a blue dress shirt with either the same colored pants or dark blue (almost black) pants with either dress boots or dress shoes.

As for my hair I used to have it long (it was a bit past my shoulders at one point), but I ended up getting a boy cut back in December so now it's really short. I get it trimmed/cleaned up about once a month. As for my facial hair I used to have a full beard (as in mustache, goatee, and sideburns all interconnecting), but then I got a circle beard (mustache and goatee connected), but now I have the Van Dyke look (mustache and goatee not connected). Also, goatee doesn't automatically mean that your chin hair is long like a goat's. Lol Mine is very short.

Jeans, long or down to the knees. Black, blue or dark green. Pullovers, Sweatshirts, Tshirts or shirt-type blouses, mostly in the same colours. Comfy shoes, though no sneakers. Black or dark green, too.

Okay, I'll finally post. I'm mostly a jeans person and whatever shirt. I mostly hear graphic tees. Sometimes I wear skirts and I love wearing thermals. I have a ton of stripey clothing. I like summer because I get to wear sandals and I love strappy sandals.

My hair is dyed dark red, it need redyed :0 I usually wear it straight, if I don't blow dry it I wear it up. I love to braid my hair all kinds of crazy ways and watch youtube videos about braids all the time.

Oh, I always have my nails painted, I love nail art.

Oh yay. I actually am a bit of a beauty/fashion junkie IRL. Probably with the time I spend watching guru videos on youtube, you could consider it a hobby.

I like to play with makeup- there's so many cool things to try, and I'm all for the idea that it is considered socially acceptable to paint on your face. It's like art. Sort of. And there's trends in beauty, just like in fashion. I wear a relatively large amount of makeup, but on an everyday basis I try to stick to stuff that's not noticeable to the untrained eye. My hair is naturally super curly, and I'll leave it like that when it's behaving, but I usually straighten it.

And as for fashion, tumblr is just the best source of inspiration out there. I follow trends and stuff to a certain degree if I think they're interesting. Like, right now, for instance, I'm obsessed with high-low hems on everything. My wardrobe tends to vary greatly in contents according to my mood/size of allowance.

I'm artsy... but I don't think I dress "artsy". I just wear whatever's in the wardrobe silent I do know when something "doesn't go" or when something "clashes" with something else, though. I think that's just from my love of colour and I know what-goes-with-what.

This year though, I suppose I have become more... me. Sweat I mean,I'm the youngest in the family (there's only 3 - elder brother, and my twin) so I pretty much get all of my brother's clothes. And he isn't arty at all! He loves sport and getting sweaty. Spew Whenever I but my own clothes I look for colour, right now I'm wearing a very very vibrant sky-blue jacket/zippy thing (LOL), a t-shirt and tracksuit pants that have a stripe the same blue as my jacket. Incredulous

You can always tell when someone's an artist, they just have a certain vibe about them. No matter what you wear you'll always have that thing going on that people can tell you're an artist. I feel like they're like regular people but they have little quirks that you can just tell, like if I wear jeans and a tee shirt I'll always wear some ridiculous jewelry with it.

I agree, WIzzle. My Auntie is an Artist, she's just turning 60 but she's, when you're around her, so young. You'd definitely know she's arty by looking at her.
And then there's my cousin, who is actually in America now (Illinois i think (Spelling?)) and she's outright crazy.. in a good way of course Sweat

I love people who are like that.. never a dull conversation!

Actually... I once saw a comic with this character who were also artsy... And she messed her room, experimented with cooking, experimented with the shape of her cooking, etc. with the excuse "it's okay, I'm an artist!"
And then I just sat there... And I was like... "That's me! I do all of this stuff too o.O" Since then I've always used the "it's okay, I'm an artist!" excuse XD

Hmmm... I've been told that I have a "hippie meets 80"s" vibe n my style... I tend to wear a lot of long colorful skirts with plain colored (usually black or white) tank tops, I'm always barefoot at home but either flip flops or ballerina flats when I go out. When I wear pants it's usually black leggings or straight leg jeans with a silky colorful blouse or tank top again with flip flops or sandals... I mix it up a little now and then and wear a mini skirt (not to mini) or shorts but not to often... I live in a hot climate so I only add a hoodie or my leather jacket in winter, no need for bulky sweaters and boots... I do own sneaker s but only wear them for work along with my cute scrubs lol...

AS far as make- up goes I'm a Cover Girl girl lol, I always have been but I do love Jaffra products also, I don't wear much just a lottle eyeliner and mascara and a sheer lip gloss, I do wear my whore paint when I hit the town though Very Happy

I'm also a HUGE nail art person! I love doing my nails and I collect nail polish of all things to collect lol, I do my nails pretty much once a week and have all kinds of fancy nail art tools, it's my girly Heaven when I'm giving myself a mani/ pedi!

Another thing I'm really fond of is earrings, I like hoops and chain type ones,I have a pair of cat earrings that have 2 pieces so one is the head and the other is the body and when they swing a little heart shows between the 2 pieces and I absolutely adore them! I almost always have a pair of earrings on... It's pretty much the only jewelry I wear except the rings my Hubby has given me...

My hair is really long (to my waist) and it has a bit of a wave to it, I typically wear either down or up in a pony but I play with it some...

Over all I have a pretty simple sense of style, if I'm not comfortable I won't wear it!
