He hates...hates! that I spend hours (sometimes) playing the sims. But....My bf just told me he would get me Pets for my birthday (Nov. 24th) this Friday if I want it. This was a surprise to me since I had been telling him all I wanted for my birthday was the last Harry Potter movie that comes out in 2 days on blu-ray (was shocked to see Walmart is selling it only for $19!!!). He looked at me and said, "what? No Sim games?" I told him about Pets and that I could wait until Christmas, he asked how much it was, and I told him "about $30, and he told me he'd get me both this weekend for my birthday! Woo-Hoo! Love Ecstatic Kissing Kissing Kissing

wish I had a BF..my only choice is dating the guy up the street from me.. (we grew up together.. I guess an advantage of doing that, is he will already know my behaviour..and that I can stand up for myself.

Well that was nice of him!! Smile I'm hoping the hubby will get Pets for me as a Christmas present. Im thinking that way it will give me enough time to see what other people think about it because I still am not 100% positive that I want it yet. I think I want it but just dont want to waste money on something that I wont like. The chances are slim though because out of all the EPs I have bought, World Adventures was the only one that I didn't like and couldnt get to work right.

MadameChung- Im sure you will have a bf someday... Probably even a husband eventually! One of my husband's friends has cerebral palsy and all his life he wanted to get married. Finally, just about a week ago, he got married at 40 years old. He met his wife online I think. Thats always an option and it makes it a lot easier to meet people. Just keep your head up. There is someone out there for everyone, I promise. Smile

not to mention..the person I mentioned before..has 2 little siblings (not that they're so little anymore!!)...kind of like Arthur (w/ the expction of the middle child being a boy). I know his family likes me...but I would find it a bit akward asking him out on a date..since shouldn't boys/men do that and not girls/women..(I'm a bit too old-fashion in that regard and also about woohoo before marriage)

Well I dont want to take over Brunette's thread so I will just say this and then if you want to talk more, you can send me a private message.

But no, I dont think its wierd for a girl to ask a guy on a date. Some guys are just not the aggressive type. There are some guys that may be too shy to ask a girl out even though they really want to go out with her. So, someone has got to make a move, right? If you dont, who will? If you want something, go for it. The worse than can happen is he will say no. If he isnt willing to even give you a chance then hes probably a jerk anyway. Dont give him a second thought. Move on to someone else and try again.

As far as woohoo before marriage, that has to do with your own personal beliefs. IF (I said IF, so noone gets offended) you believe in the Bible, then it is wrong. To be realistic though, this is 2011. I only know a handful of people nowadays that actually "save" themselves before marriage. So, I dont judge people if they sleep with each other before marriage. Thats just the way that it is. Noone is perfect (including me). If you have enough self control to "save" yourself before marriage, then good for you. It is something to be proud of.

I mean techianlly it would be easier to go out with someone I grew up with than trying to start from first base with someone I didn't.

he owns a dog (so we both like dogs)
his family owns a swimming pool (so do mine)

Ok well if you're interested in him and would be more comfortable asking him out than someone you don't know, then go for it!! Im just saying if he DOES say no, don't worry about it because there are tons of people out there. I know you think its hard asking someone out that you don't know but that's why you start off being friends with someone. Are there any other boys you go to church with or school with? Start off just by making small talk with a guy. Say "hey my name is (insert name) how are you doing?" Eventually you start finding out what you guys have in common. Find out if he likes animals, if he plays sports, what type of music he likes. Then once you get to know him you will feel better about asking him out. This can still be kind of scary if you aren't used to it which is why I say its a lot easier online because you don't have to be face to face, which gets rid of some od the awkwardness. Just be careful when dating online. Don't give out any personal info or even consider meeting the guy unless you've talked to him for a long time and feel that you can trust hhim.

most boys at church are too young for me and those who are around my age are off at college or something (but the one boy I mentioned is my age, and I can get to him easily.. actually we both have our b-days in months that start with J). And I'm not allowed to go places by myself *glares at parents* and most of the church people already know me.

I don't go to school (college) its an online course..I'm doing.. but i much rather be doing hospitably mangent..and living away from home. Since I'm like Ariel from TLM wanting to be part of another "world" since to me being stuck at home..is like Ariel being stuck in (under?) the sea and the "real" world (ie college world) is like Ariel's "Eric's world" . But i don't have a credit card for anything to pay online for the hospitably management program ..and there is no other alternative to pay. Since I'm not exactly learning to be indepent HERE (at home).

sorry getting off-topic.

Well church, school, and work are great places to meet people. Since you don't work or physically go to school, it looks like online dating would be a good option for you. Just like I said, be careful. I think that first of all, you need to ask out this boy that you know. If he says no, THEN you can start thinking about dating online. I think there's a good chance he will say yes though. He might even become your bf someday. Maybe more! You never know until you take the chance.

only problem is online dating is $$$ and there is no free dating sites...

and I do know that Paul (the person I been mentioning) did like Sci-fic stuff. we watched Flubber once at his place.

But there is just one problem...he's still in a relationship.. with someone else...

If you go on google and type in "free dating site" you might be able to find something. I'm sure there is something free out there. If not, you dont always have to use a dating site. You can get to know people through Facebook. I know people who do that all the time. I'm pretty sure facebook has chat rooms. Or if you have a messenger like Yahoo or MSN, thats a good way also. PLEASE be careful if you do this though. I repeat! You can not be cautious enough. There are some real wierdos out there. Never give out your address or anything like that until you have talked to the person for a long time and you feel comfortable with them.

If he is in a relationship then thats a bit of a problem. I would not suggest going after him until he is through with his girlfriend. You dont want to be "that girl" that goes around trying to steal boyfriends. Girls can get vicious, especially when they think youre after their bf/husband. Besides that, I doubt he is going to break up with his girlfriend to be with you, unless he was planning on breaking up with her soon anyway. If anything it will just make things awkward between you two. You can either wait until he is single again, which who knows when that will be, or you can go after someone who is actually available. Unless you are really patient and really want to be with HIM, Id say forget him for now, and move onto someone who is single.

Something else, you dont always have to be a church or school to meet someone either. It could be as easy as you taking a trip to the grocery store and seeing a boy that you like. This may sound aggressive, but you just walk right up to him and say "Hey I was just wondering... do you have a gf?" If he says no, then give him your number and tell him to call you sometime. Some guys like aggressive girls. It shows that you are bold and confident in yourself.

I still live at home w/ parents and they are super strict/protective of where I can go, who I can go out with. He's been in a relationship for I think 3 years maybe 4? I lost track of time.. but his mom told me..and yet he;s the only boy my age around here..the only other boy around here is 1)only child, and 2) is away at post-secondary school.

I find it kind of hard to believe that there are only one or two other boys around where you live. I mean unless you live in a town with an EXTREMELY small population, I would think that there are tons of boys out there your age. You just have to know where to look for them. Surely you go to the mall or to the store with your mom/dad sometime. Like I said, walk up to someone and talk to them. Be confident.

Your overprotective parents, however, is another issue. If you really want a boyfriend, I would suggest sitting down with your parents and saying "I know you worry about me, I know you want to protect me, but I am an adult now, and it would make me so happy if I had a boyfriend. I need you to cut me a little slack". If they cant understand this, then the only option is to just move out of their house and get away from them so you can do what you want.

Anyway, Im not going to say anymore. I think Ive gave you plenty of tips/ advice. I know Brunette said she didnt mind but I feel bad for taking over her thread. Just follow my advice. If you get rejected, dont let it bother you. Just try again with someone else, and dont stress about it or worry about it too much. I guarantee you that at some point in your life you will have a boyfriend.

Well, I get Harry Potter tomorrow. He asked me if I would mind waiting until we go to Oregon for Thanksgiving to get Pets (no sales tax). I don't mind btw. Razz I just hope they have it at the Walmart in the area we are going to since I don't think they have a Gamestop there...it's a really small town.

They were completely sold out of Pets at our local Walmart. Shocked

I know all about small towns. I live in one! We dont have a gamestop either. We just recently got a super walmart. I hope they aren't sold out when I decide to get Pets. There is nothing worse than having to drive 40 miles away to the nearest gamestop just to get a game!!

One of the reasons why I wished we lived in a bigger city. Basically anytime we want to go to the mall, or out to eat at a nice restaurant like Olive Garden or Carrabbas, we have to drive 40 miles away. It sucks pretty bad. Sad
