Hey Simstopians, so the keep this a safe, fun and friendly environment we've come up with a few common sense rules. These are here to help people, keep everyone safe, hopefully prevent any legal issues and to keep the fun. Its not fun if somebody gets hurt!

So here they are, most are just common sense. If you want to know more about some of the rules, feel free to ask us in the feedback section.

Behavior
• Keep negativity to a minimum
• Try to make positive posts
• Keep the hate off site
• Respect the opinions of others.
• Please treat others with respect on this site, and any other site within the simmerverse
• Users must be 13 or older
• Users under 16 must have Adult consent to use the site
• Work out differences politely
• Be respectful when posting about religious, political, or otherwise controversial content
• Keep posts clean: free of racism, adult content, and bigotry
• No personal attacks: don't flame, troll, insult, harass, threaten, rant, taunt or flamebait
• Do not post personal information about others
• Do not send repeated PMs or encourage other players to PM bomb any forum member
• Have a sense of humor!

Illegal Activities
• Do not post downloads copyrighted material
• Do not discuss illegal activities
• Do not share accounts
• Do not return to the forum on a duplicate account if your account is currently suspended
• Do not ask for or give out serial numbers

Moderators and Staff – We’re here to help
• Respect the decisions of the moderators and staff
• Do not publicize private conversations between yourself and the moderators/staff
• If necessary, we may have to remove posts or users who repeatedly violate our rules

Concerning Spamming/Trolling
Spamming, flaming and trolling can be punished immediately by a 24 hour partial ban (you can view the boards, but cannot post) on first offense. Generally, moderators will lock topics first with a warning, but if you tell another user "f*c! you", expect to lose your posting privileges for a day or more. Repeat offenders may be fully banned for longer time periods or eventually perma-banned. Any action taken longer than a week will not be made by a moderator, rather an Administrator.

In addition, some other small trends we've noticed and would like to see stopped (though these won't result in a ban) include: having a subject line that has nothing to do with the topic of the post, ex: "haha... n00bs." Also, please refrain from posting in ALL CAPS, it's really annoying. Also, swearing in the subject line should be kept to a minimum... we aren't heavily filtering language, and don't want to have to - but some users have us re-thinking that policy. If you do use coarse language in a post, place it in Spoiler tags.

We want this to be a fun place where discussion is encouraged, debates happen, and people can get together and discuss the game. If you have any questions or comments, we're happy to take those by PM or in the "Feedback" section.

Strike System
For Rule Breakers, there is a "Strike" System in place.
For 1 Offense- Strike placed on profile (No warning)
For 2 Offenses- Strike placed on profile (No warning)
For 3 Offenses- A 72 Hour Ban (Possibility of appealing)
For 4 Offenses- A 7 Day Ban (Possibility of appealing)
For 5 Offenses- A Permanent Ban (No possibility of appealing)

If you notice something inappropriate posted on the boards, please alert a staff member so that we can address it.
