Notes on why Teen pregancy is not cool?

I'm trying to write a blog post on why Teen pregnancy is not cool but I only have scenarios:

1)baby's daddy (also a teen) marries pregnant teen girl
2)baby;s grandparents help to raise baby
3) "Open" adoption (being in contact with the kid)

unlucky:
1)single teen mom having to work 4 or more part-time jobs just to raise the baby (since she was kicked out of her parents' house
2)give baby up for a "closed" adoption
3) get married to baby daddy and the girl finds out the baby daddy is a jerk and might even be abusive.

If you could give me more information about why Teen pregnancy is NOT cool that would be great.

its hard to keep up in school?

Watch Teen Mom, it's harder to go through school, most teen marriages end up in divorce, if the couple even stays together.

I KNOW but TV shows like that (despite stuff like divorce) make Teen pregnancy cooler

How do they make it cooler?

Think about it, when you're a teen most people are quite selfish, hedonistic even. When you're that young in life you just want to enjoy yourself.

Insert a baby into the situation. Now you have another person who will most likely be soley dependent on you (and your partner if you're fortunate enough to still have one). The decisions and choices YOU make, even early on, could directly influence the outcome of your child's life.

The parents are still teens, not fully matured and still figuring out who they are and the right decisions to make for themselves, let alone for another being.

I would hate that sort of responsibility at that young age. Babies are not all fun and cuteness, they are a lot of hard work. The education system is hard enough without having a baby to look after.

Lot's of reasons why teen pregnancy can be a bad idea

Teen Mom and 16 & Pregnant do not make teen pregnancy cool. The whole purpose of those shows is to show you what life would be like if you had a baby at such a young age. If you watched the show, you would know that it is a constant struggle. When you're that young, and haven't even finished high school, you're not financially stable or even mentally stable enough to raise a child. A teen mother is forced to grow up way too fast and is forced to give up a lot of things.

A few friends of mine are teen mothers, so I know what it's like because I see what they go through. They're stressed almost all the time - especially if they're the only one raising the baby. A vast majority of teen relationships that have a baby involved do not last.

Teen Mom has to stay with her baby feeding it, changing diapers and nursing it when it is crying all night... instead of spending time with her teenage girlfriends... who go to parties... and will soon not be friends of teenage mum anymore...

Very true, but now there are girls that are getting pregnant in hopes of getting on these shows. So sad...they're missing the point.

Yeah, you should really watch the show to see why it's good for preventing teen pregnancy.

@wizzle I know why Teen pregnancy is not cool But those shows make teenage pregnancy cooler if teen girls are trying to end up pregnancy to be ON the show=not cool in my book.

But I read a fictional book about it in high school. It just seems we have a double standard about kids and females. We look down on teen moms with kids but at the same time we look down on older (40s and older) single women without kids.

You dont have time for friends, family or school. A baby is a 24/7 job and you never get a break. There is nothing good about teen pregnancy. One of my best friends has a daughter and we never get to hang out because if shes not at one of her 2 jobs then shes raising her child. Nothing cool about having no life or time for friends.
